Event Description:
The National Learning & Action Network (LAN) Event titled, “Integrating Alcohol and Depression Screenings into Whole-Person Care” included a panel discussion, featuring providers who have integrated behavioral health screenings into their practices. This event was framed by a patient perspective shared through personal story and in the panel discussion.

- Recognize behavioral health as a factor in health care inequity and poor health outcomes in urban medically underserved populations.
- Describe how to incorporate behavioral health and substance misuse screening into the practice workflow.
- Utilize two strategies for initiating a conversation with patients about screening results, enhancing patient engagement, and motivating health behavior change.
- Identify effective community partnerships in achieving whole person care.
