Health care providers now have access to information about vaccines and dosages at the tip of their fingers. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released a Vaccine Schedules mobile app to provide health care professionals with up-to-date immunization information. The app features an interactive, sortable database of vaccination schedule recommendations for all ages, including seniors.
The graphical interface matches the layout and color scheme of the annual printed schedules, lending increased functionality to a familiar design. It features information on contraindications and precautions; vaccine storage and handling; vaccine shortages or delays; immunization education and training; vaccine abbreviations; and much more.
The app also sorts vaccine schedules by age group or existing medical condition, such as heart disease and diabetes, helping providers create a comprehensive immunization plan for all people.
