On March 6, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) Program’s Strategic Innovation Engine (SIE) launched a new call for innovative health care quality and safety improvement practices.
With a new, simplified and streamlined submission process, the SIE plans to gather high value and high impact innovative practices from key stakeholders, including providers, beneficiary advocacy groups, and government agencies. These practices will be evaluated for their effectiveness in advancing CMS’ goals of better care, healthier people, and smarter spending. Selected innovative practices will be widely disseminated via various channels throughout the CMS quality community.
“The spread of what is working is one of the best ways to accelerate the achievement of our collective aims,” said Tennille Daniels, project director with the SIE. “We look forward to learning about the latest in innovative care practices from those on the ground.”
