Falls: Keeping Residents Safe (Roundtable)

Friendly doctor supporting senior woman. Happy young nurse or clinician and her older adult patient sitting on sofa, looking at each other, holding hands, talking and smiling.

Hosted by Superior Health Quality Alliance, The Nursing Home Leadership Roundtable is a virtual learning and networking series that supports nursing homes across Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin in understanding and adopting best practices on a variety of different topics. These calls are intended for nursing home administrators, directors of nursing and infection preventionists, but are open to any interested nursing home staff. This is an opportunity for nursing home leaders to learn about emerging regulatory and clinical guidance, best practices and nursing home priority issues such as vaccinations and quality improvement approaches.

During this presentation, viewers will be able to:

  • Identify how to use root cause analysis (RCA) to drive new intervention identification immediately post fall
  • Identify strategies for reducing alarms in skilled nursing facilities (SNF)
  • Identify fall interventions that are alternatives to alarms.
