This webinar hosted by Denver Health and the Mountain Plains Regional Disaster Health Response System Medical Advisory Panel (MPRDHRS MAP) will summarize current guidance and recommendations developed for health care facilities in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming to address the ongoing Becton Dickinson (BD) blood culture bottle shortage.
The shortage limits the ability to reorder BD bottles and reduces the capacity to perform blood cultures on BD-specific analyzers. This guidance also offers insights for facilities not currently affected but may face similar challenges in the future.
