Three Steps for Seniors to be Prepared for Emergencies

The states and territories served by the TMF Quality Innovation Network are often affected by hurricanes and other natural disasters. Informational webinars were held during the summer months of 2021 to give timely, life-saving information to Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers, and the general public in English and Spanish. These webinars served as an opportunity for participants to hear from one of their own, Ylda Farré-Rigau, Ed.D., who also happens to be a member of the TMF Patient and Family Engagement Coalition representing the U.S. Territory of Puerto Rico. During these webinars, Dr. Farré-Rigau offers easy-to-follow steps to ensure seniors and their caregivers have basic essentials and safety information to prepare for all types of disasters, including during a pandemic, such as COVID-19.
