Back to Baseline and Beyond: Community Approaches in Hypertension Control

The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically highlighted social inequities in health care and beyond. Almost half of adults in the United States live with hypertension, and many don’t know it. High blood pressure is a leading cause and a controllable risk factor for heart disease and stroke and can contribute to worse outcomes for people who contract COVID-19. Now more than ever, paying attention to our blood pressure results and prevention efforts is essential.

In this Back to Baseline and Beyond series provided by Superior Health Quality Alliance, health care providers will learn more about the efforts to strengthen and extend the reach of blood pressure knowledge and the tools that can be used in communities to curb the negative effects of heart disease.

Listed below are the objectives that will be covered during this webinar:

  • Learn about the latest guidelines, research, tools and resources physicians and health care teams can use to help patients reach and sustain healthy blood pressure levels.
  • Gain awareness of and the ability to share blood pressure prevention and management resources with patients and families.
  • Discover outreach strategies for rural areas to share hypertension control methods for health care providers, patients and community partners.
